Post Production

These are a few renders that I had to paint over at the end because the jacket
that I made for the malcolm rig broke when the character was in some positions
so I spent 33 hours, from 4pm wednesday evening to 1am early hours friday morning
with no sleep painting over each frame and I did 728 of them in total.

Another thing I did was to change the appearance of the background characters by changing the hair, clothes and slight facial features so that they all didn't look the same.

Overall Town

I finished the town and textured it, now I've textured it im not happy with it. Texturing is not my thing but someone had to do it, its the same when I've drawn pictures I like then coloured them I dont like them anymore, I tried to keep the textures as basic as possible, plus that was the style that jordan wanted.

After I finished the town I deleted all the polygons that couldn't be seen to save on the render time, In all I think I deleted around 30,000 polys that weren't needed.

Help on James Project

I rigged a rope bridge for James's team to help them out, I did it in the first 3 days of the easter holidays. After I rigged the mime character I found the bridge pretty easy but it was very tedious doing each plank but the reply from james suggests its very useful

The way I did it was putting one joint in the middle of the plank and parent constraining it to the bottom of the rope and each side and the bottom guide rope on each side so they world move together then putting a joint at the top of the rope on either side and parent constraining it to the top guide rope on either side and basically repeated the process for each plank except for the end parts of the ropes. I had to put a joint in the middle of the posts so the rope didnt move away from the post.

The reaction I got from sultan was embarassing because I didnt use a tutorial to rig it, I just used trial and error and what I had learnt in lesson, he said he felt abit jealous after he'd seen it animated.

Im going to take that as a good sign.

Environment Modelling - Overall Pics

Main cafe with the basic blocks of others

Block of the whole environment so Jordan could start animating

Then gradually replaced each block with the finished one

Added a floor texture but I dont know if it will stay the same

Environment complete with outlines removed to show what it looks like and the fountain is smoothed to add some roundedness

Environment Modelling - Small Cafe Building

This one annoyed me the most, it was a blank spot for ages when the buildings were put together I just didn't know what to do with it

This one was a nice easy one to model was to difficult, another favourite

This was the first model I made for this project, working out how to round the windows and where to cut down on the polygon count in the main places where they wont be seen this is my favourite one
