Mime Character (After Sultan Tutorials)

This is the complete bind rig

Hip and shoulder controls added

Spine rig added with FK spline Handle and main body control

Spine controls added

Ik legs added

Ik leg controls added, knee controls added also foot attributes created but in a different way to the tutorials because the way sultan did it, for some reason it didnt work for me so I had to use a joint system and parent it to the Ik handles to get the same effect

Fk legs Added

Ik arms and controls added

Fk arms added with controls

Fk/Ik switches added

The pictures above are because when it came to making the FK/IK switches work I was having problems with rig because when the parent constraints were attached it was breaking the rig, after working out that the orients on the right side of the rig was wrong and not the same as the left even though I mirrored the joints, so I had to rebuild the right arms and legs (Bind, Fk and Ik).

Clavicle controls added

Finger controls added

Main transform control added

Handed control created

Attributes added to hand so fist can be made and fingers can spread

Weights being corrected using component editor not paint weights tool I find it easier that way

Rig pretty much done, but can be used now for a few scenes but I will have to add a facial rig for rest of scenes will be doing that soon after the mime face changes have been made

Mime Rigging (Before Sultan Tutorials)

This is the first attempt at rigging before Sultan uploaded his tutorials, The spine is wrong because I followed the shape of the body when I'm not supposed to, the legs are just Ik legs they work fine, the knees are controlled by polevectors, the feet are controlled by attributes so they can roll and twist etc, I was pretty happy with them when I first made them.

The Mime Character

The mime body was modelled by Jordan Morris (Wannamakeafilm.blogspot.com) my task was the face and the first attempt was terrible, just shocking but it was the first face I modelled for a character and I struggle to draw face so modelling one was just as bad.

The eyes are completely wrong they was in sockets, there wasnt any eyelids or brow so it looked very flat. The mouth topology was non-existant.

The second attempt was miles better, what I did on the advice of Neil was to model a head from a topology image so the topology was correct and use that to model this head, I was really pleased with it so I textured it, but after showing Neil I needed to change it again because the eyes and mouth was to realistic for this character.

After changing the eyes and mouth, the eyes are bigger but they still need a slight change because there abit square and need to be circular also the sides of the sockets need to be more rounded and under the eyes need to be more rounded aswell but the mouth is great now.
